Once you’ve got your date, you might find it a problem picking up a line of conversation (don’t worry, you’re not the only one). Don’t force it. Luckily for you girls love to talk. So just sit back and relax. You will be amazed how within seconds she’s got a conversation going.

• You can make polite attempts to steer it towards topics that interest you. But once it gets to something close to your heart --- like, say, cricket --- don’t take over.
• Give her a chance to talk about her favourite cricketers, matches etc.
• Most men make the mistake of launching into a long speech once they get a chance to talk about something they feel they know much about.
• So if by the end of the evening you’re still talking about cricket, chances are that you’ve bored her. And that ends your chance of a second date.
